Sometimes the hardest part of enjoying where you live is finding out what’s happening in time to be part of it.
The gathering you hear about the next morning. The trail you’ve driven past for years. The new place you keep meaning to try. The question about your neighborhood that nobody seems to have answered.
NOW SGF is starting with those everyday things.
I’m Kevin Bedwell, the person behind NOW SGF. I graduated from Parkview High School, and I’m just a guy who’s a little obsessed with his dog. I love finding trails and things to do with my pup—especially places we haven’t explored yet.
That curiosity is part of what I want to bring to NOW SGF: a reason to get outside, try something different, and get to know this place a little better. You can probably expect a few dog-friendly discoveries along the way.
We’re building an independent local publication for Springfield, Missouri, and the surrounding Ozarks—a place for useful stories, thoughtful recommendations, and a few more reasons to feel at home.
You’ll find things to do, places to explore, and updates about what’s changing around town. Our field guide includes practical details to help you plan an afternoon. You can save a place for later, add an event to your calendar, or sign up for local notes in your inbox.
We’re starting small. The calendar won’t contain every event. The guides won’t cover every corner. What we publish should be useful, clearly sourced, and worth your time.
When we draw on another newsroom’s reporting, we’ll credit and link to it. When something is sponsored, we’ll say so. When we get something wrong, we’ll correct it.
And we want your help deciding where to look next.
