Outside NOW
A long trail. A little outing.
You don’t need to tackle all 35 miles of the Frisco Highline to make an afternoon of it.
Try this for a low-pressure plan: pick a turnaround time instead of a mileage goal. A short out-and-back can be enough reason to get outside with your pup.
Start on the Springfield end
Ozark Greenways lists the Springfield trailhead at 3845 W. Kearney. The Frisco Highline connects Springfield and Bolivar, with pavement at the southern end and crushed-gravel sections farther along the route.
Transportation-themed sculptures appear along the first six miles. Treat them as something to look for, not a checklist to finish.
Make it your size
Our suggested plan: walk for 20 minutes, then head back. Allow extra time for sniffing and pauses. This is a planning idea, not a route we have field-tested.
The trail is open during daylight. Keep your dog leashed, pick up waste, and leave room for other trail users. Bring water for both of you and check trail alerts before setting out.
